Viral Gift Wrapping Hack - My Verdict

by - 23:36:00

Like many people I was in awe of the viral gift wrapping hack going around online. I couldn't believe I had been wrapping gifts wrong this whole time. I attempted the seemingly simple task the other night.  The verdict? It's not so simple. Apparently it's all based on geometry and while I always appreciate a perfectly wrapped Christmas gift I don't have time to break out my protractor. After attempting the viral gift wrapping trick a few times I decided to go back to my old way of wrapping, perfectly imperfect.

Luckily I have my own Viral Gift Wrapping Hack to pass along. Keep reading to find out more.

I wanted some skinny velvet ribbon but it costs an arm and a leg and only comes in a few select colours. I decided to try something new and it turned out to be one of my favourite Chirstmas hacks ever! I went to my local fabric store and purchased 1/2 meter of crushed velvet fabric from an assortment of colours. It cost $5. I simply laid it out and cut it into long skinny strips. Because the velvet is heavy my make-shift ribbon hangs perfectly and it kind of curls in so there is no need for a seam. I've already used this ribbon on my  Christmas table Centerpiece and my DIY pampas grass wreath.

Speaking of gift wrapping, do you wrap your Christmas presents from Santa in different paper? We do and I take it pretty seriously. My husband knows that the Santa paper (which usually has Santa's face on it and is super sparkly) is to be hidden until the big day. If anything else gets wrapped in that paper (like my brother's gift or something) I lose it. Please tell me I'm not the only one?
