Pampas Grass Christmas Wreath: An Easy DIY

by - 10:29:00

This year I'm using some new colours and textures in my Christmas decor. I can't wait to show you more but for now here is a sneak peak at an easy pampas grass Christmas wreath I made for under $10. That's right, this DIY pampas grass Christmas wreath was $10, beautiful and affordable.

The most expensive component for my Pampas Grass Christmas Wreath was the hoop that I got from Michaels. I simply attached the white feather dusters to the hoop with some wire then I clustered some pampas grass together and attached it with wire as well. Finally I added a simple velvet ribbon bow with the skinny velvet ribbon I made. As a recap, here are the 3 Christmas Decor Hacks that made this wreath possible.

3 Christmas Decor Hacks:
1. Decorate with White Dusters - I picked up these white feather dusters from the dollar store, removed the handles and adhered them to my wreath with some wire. You can also just add these anywhere into your decor (like the Christmas Tree).

2. Make your own Velvet Ribbon - I purchased a half a yard of velvet fabric and simply cut skinny strips to make my ribbon. The edges of the velvet curl a bit so there is no need for a hem plus it give it a more rustic look. The great thing about this hack is that for a fraction of the cost you can get tons of velvet ribbon.

3. Use Pampas Grass from the Side of the Road - Simple clip off some pampas grass from the side of the road (wear gloves and use scissors). Shake them really well and let them sit over night in the garage (shake them again before bringing them into your house - they can shed a lot). Once you've got them wired into your decor they will not shed or disintegrate.
