Rustic Outdoor Christmas Decorating Ideas

I love seeing outdoor Christmas decorations in unexpected places. There's nothing like catching that lonely barn adorned with lights while driving down a country road in the winter. In my parent's backyard there's a shed that my dad built that reminds me of one of those lonely barns, it's beautiful and weathered.  Since we can see the shed from their dining room table, I thought it would be lovely to decorate it for Christmas. I was so excited to partner with Home Hardware on this project. Their selection was the perfect inspiration for all my rustic outdoor Christmas decorating ideas. Plus! Right now they are having their "Come Home for Christmas" Sale running from November 21 to December 24. Be sure to drop by and check out the sales.

For my parent's shed I decided I wanted to flank either side of the door with some frosted pine arrangements inside two rustic wooden barrels. I outlined the shed door with some white trim to make it a focal point. I hung two black lanterns on either side of the door, placed a frosted pine wreath on the door and added some frosted pine garland around the roof. I also added some real foliage here and there. Finally, I selected some ribbon and created my own bow for the wreath. I love the way it turned out. It was easy to put together and I feel like this look could live longer than just the holidays.
