Bathroom Renovation - Plans and Pics

by - 00:43:00

If you were following along on my Instagram before the holidays you would have felt my panic as we raced to complete our basement/bathroom renovation before Christmas. We were hosting Christmas Eve and our guests needed somewhere to sleep etc. Well I'm happy to report that we finished our reno just in time and my husband and I are still talking to eachother. I will post the reveal of the basement bathroom later this week but for now here are the plans and pics of the journey.

My husband let me do something a bit different in this bathroom. I've always felt basement bathrooms should be a bit more masculine and "gastro-pub-esque". So I knew I wanted to use cement design tile. Desert Tile had a great selection.

We chose Giorgia Cement Tile for the floor and white subway tile with dark grout for the shower.

We chose the Lahara Faucet from Delta in Champagne Bronze. If you've found it difficult to find a "gold" faucet in traditional retail stores, rest assured this amazing Delta faucet is available at Lowes.

Our bathroom space was "roughed-in" when we bought the house last year. We assumed "roughed-in" meant square and plum but oddly it did not. Of course, we didn't know this until the tile was being laid, but luckily we were able to make the necessary adjustments without starting over.

  1. That tile is gorgeous! Looks like the whole thing will be lovely. Glad you got it finished in time for Christmas. We did the same silly thing - taking on a foyer reno just prior to Christmas, but we were sure happy to welcome guests to our refreshed space. :)
