One Room Challenge Fall 2017 - Week 1: The Office

by - 11:28:00

Are you excited for another One Room Challenge? Me too. It is essential that I get my office back to a working order and looking good, it is literally out of control. The One Room Challenge gives me the motivation I need to accomplish this goal and in a tight timeline.

This is my third One Room Challenge, my first was my living room/dining room, the second was my laundry room (it doesn't photograph well because it's missing the natural light). For those of you who may not of heard of the ORC, it is a design event hosted by the wonderful Linda of Calling it Home that takes place twice a year (spring and fall), where designers have six weeks to makeover one room in their house and blog about it along the way.

I was lucky earlier in the summer, I won a new door and door knob in the #MyDoorDoOver Contest with Metrie Doors and Nostalgic Warehouse. The door I selected is the fashion forward glass door with an oil rubbed bronze New York door knob I selected a glass door so that it would require me to keep my office neat and clean - we'll see how that works out.

In addition, I've partnered with Legrand to update all my outlets and switches with their new adorne Collection of modern plates. I got a head start on this one to ensure I could handle the electrical, you can check it out in the blog post here. Also, I will attempt a stencil - eee! Not sure if I can do this but we'll see. Lastly, I've got a few goodies coming from Bouclair (PS - if you're interested, use harlowandthistle15 for 15% at Bouclair)

Here is my office right now - no judgement, I know, it's out of control.

Be sure to check out the official designers participating in the One Room Challenge and the guest participants at Calling it Home.

  1. Oooh, I love your inspiration!! I'm so excited to see how your office turns out!!! This is my first time participating in the ORC, and it's already so much fun, seeing people's ideas and feeling like we are in this together. Since you have done it a few times, do you have any tips for a newbie? TIA!!

    1. Thanks Jordana! Yes, we have a walk-out from the office to the deck. I've been thinking I should do some sort of outdoor office space but maybe in the spring. Are you doing the One Room Challenge?
