One Room Challenge Fall 2017 - Week 3: Wall Stencil

Looking for tips on how to stencil a wall? Well, look no further, after I got past my stage-fright I can safely say with confidence that I am an expert in stenciling (well at least a semi-pro).

Can you believe we're half way through the Fall One Room Challenge 2017 already? You can catch up on my week one and week two progress here. This week I tackled the giant wall stencil for my office makeover. You may have caught this on my instastories. Does anyone get intimidated or daunted by these kinds of projects? I was so nervous to start the stencil that it almost stopped me from starting - then my husband said "it's just paint" (he's so level headed).

My 5 tips for stenciling a wall:

1. Start in one upper corner.
2. Use low tack spray adhesive on the back of your stencil (plus tape on the edges).
3. Get paint on your roller, roll off the excess on a paper towel and lightly paint the wall.
4. Let the first coat dry and repeat step 3 until you reach your desired opaqueness.
5. Remove the wall stencil and reposition. Note, there are usually small registration marks for aligning the stencil (at first I thought this these were holes but then I figured it out).
