DIY Wedding Chair Covers

by - 23:29:00

Oh this was my favourite thing I made for my wedding. Definitely took more time than I anticipated but it was totally worth it. I found a few pictures online of these great haute couture chair covers and after sourcing a few rental places in my area I came up with nothing so I decided to sew them myself. Check out my DIY Wedding Ruffled Chair Covers below.

Here are the pics of my inspiration.

Here is the pattern to cut the ruffles. I sewed a pocket for the top of the chair then I simply cut thousands of ruffles per the pattern below and sewed approx 10 to 12 of the ruffles along the edge of the back of the pocket.

Here are the Chair Covers on my wedding day - I was very happy with the outcome.

    1. Sorry for the late reply. I'm so glad you like them. It was my favourite wedding project. The measurements were roughly 14" x 12" for the pocket and the swirls hung down about 5". Hope that helps.

  2. What kind of fabric did you use for both the pocket and for the swirls? The chairs look beautiful.

  3. Thanks! This really was my favourite project and really added a lot to my wedding. The fabric was chiffon for both the pocket and the swirls - I wanted them to be slightly transparent and the swirls sit best with chiffon. Hope this helps.
