I've had an idea to upcycle some patio chairs in the back of my head for some time now. I found these patio chairs at the thrift store for a dollar each and I instantly knew what I wanted to do. As part of the Modern Handmade Home a few other bloggers and I have partnered with Home Right to upcycle some furniture using their Super Finish Max Paint Sprayer and Large Spray Shelter.
The Paint Shelter is a dream come true and has really made my husband happy (he's a bit obsessed with keeping the garage clean). Now I have a tent for all my messy DIY projects - genius.
The Super Finish Max Paint sprayer by Home Right creates a beautiful finish with no brush strokes. In this project the sprayer did an excellent job getting into all the nooks and crannies of the mesh patio chairs without gumming up the holes.
It's an electrical sprayer that is super easy to assemble and use. I simply poured my desired paint into the container, screwed it on and pulled the trigger. It took a second for the paint to start flowing and then it was like magic. Seriously guys, the paint portion of this project was done in seconds. Clean-up was a breeze too. I'm looking forward to using this paint sprayer in many more future projects.
After I let the paint dry I decided I wanted to kick it up a notch and add some macrame with thick wool to the sides of the patio chairs. I used a nylon wool but a outdoor rope would be more durable in the elements.
I experimented with a few different macrame knots and braids and finally decided on this one. I love the way it turned out.
