DIY Drum Shade

I'm getting dangerously close to missing one of my self-imposed deadlines so with that being said this post will be short - I'll let the photos do the talking.
If you caught my previous post, where I listed my weekly favourite finds you may have guessed that I'd choose the drum shade pendant to make (it was clearly the easiest). It's not quite as large as the barrel shade in my moodboard but you get the idea.

Here are the things you'll need. I picked up the lampshade at Rona, some painters tape and Krylon black and gold spray paints.

I taped the top and bottom lips and spray painted the inside of the shade gold.

Once dry, I did the same for the outside. Taped around the edges (in this steps I also used newspaper to cover up the gold interior just in case the spray got out of control). Then I spray painted the outside black.

I had my little guy help me but he was a little heavy in one area so I now have to keep this part of the shade turned to the back.

Okay, so I'm obviously a talker and didn't let any of these pics do the talking. Poor pics couldn't get a word in edge-wise.

Stay tuned for next week's faves and watch as I attempt yet again to meet one of my arbitrary deadlines.
