DIY Nursery Stripes

by - 11:37:00

This is just a quick little post on the stripes in our baby nursery. I painted the stripes to add a bit of whimsy.

 This was my inspiration

To make perfect leveled stripes use Stanley's chalk snap line. Be sure to put cloths down as the chalk can get a bit messy. Up the sides of the wall use a pencil to mark where you want your stripes to start and end (use a ruler to ensure they are equal widths). Our stripes were approx. 10". Have your partner hold the chalk line to the first pencil mark on your wall, pull the chalk line to the pencil mark on the other side of the wall, check that the line is level, pull it tight and snap it to the wall. You will be left with a straight blue chalk line on your wall - don't worry it's washable.

Tape along the blue chalk stripe. Be sure to use frog tape for the stripes as it is the best and totally worth the higher price point (no leaks). Paint a small spot on the lines you want to fill so you don't forget when it's time to paint.

Here is a pic of my handsome husband getting ready to paint.

Here's the finished product. I'm in love.
